Heirlooms: A Teacher's Trunk

My great grandmother, Abby Lulu White, was born in 1881 in Churdan, Greene County, Iowa. After graduating from high school near Rockwell City, Calhoun County, Iowa she became a teacher. I don't know much about her time teaching, but I do have the trunk that she used to pack all of her belongings as she began her career. Well, I do know one other thing about her teaching career: it didn't last very long. She soon married the dashing school superintendent, Lewis Edwin McFarlane, in 1903 and my grandfather was born not long after.
