Multi-generational Home

The photo below is the extended Oxley family of Clear Lake, Iowa, in the 1920s. Three generations of Oxleys would live on what was called the George Oxley farm.

If your family has a similar situation--two or more generations who occupied the same home--try figuring out the most recent generation to have lived there. That's the branch of the family that may have ended up with photos and heirlooms that got stored (and then abandoned) up in the attic or out in a shed. A friendly offer to reconnect and share stories is often welcome.
