Among my boxes and totes are a number of valentines from long ago.
These are cards my mom saved from my first valentine's day 50 years ago. I have scanned and saved them digitally but will keep the originals until they fully fall apart...which won't be much longer. They've spent a few decades in damp basements.

This is one I collected much later than when Loren gave it to Norman. The inscription is with 'real' ink.

These too are someone else's memories, but I consider them treasures. The one on the left is from the early 1970s, from my older siblings to one set of great-grandparents. The one on the right is from the 1950s, from my mom to her grandmother.

How I wish I could stop by my grandparents' houses with little valentines for them.
