The second installment in Jen's YouTube series is the use of pension records from the War of 1812.
Blog posts from a few years ago discuss how I used a pension record from that conflict to formulate a theory regarding the parents of Thomas W. White, born in West Virginia around 1826. The first one can be read here and the second one here. My relevant DNA connections to Sarah Menear White Bolyard have only continued to grow in that time, strengthening the theory that she was Thomas's mother.
Other mysteries have been solved by other records pertaining to the War of 1812 that aren't pensions. Stay tuned for a future episode!
